Howdy Folks. Brian here...
While in Colorado (2006-2009), I lived only a few miles from the The Toad Tavern in Littleton where I sat in often with the house band or backed out-of-town performers. The Toad Tavern had been renovated in early 2006 which included a state-of-the-art PA system with recording capabilities. I recently gained access to those recordings (over 60) and the quality was so good, that I decided to re-master them and put them into a compilation. And so was born 'Still Got My Mojo' album.
Now, not all of the Live recorded songs are popular or mainstream and in some cases, I'm still waiting on waivers from the Artists I performed with, but the majority of the tracks will be released. Also there will be new studio recordings produced within the last year included in the compilation.
So, what's the holdup? Well, it's all the legal mumbo jumbo. You see whenever you record someone else's song, you have to get permission and/or license the track. Artists, or more specifically their Agents or Estates, are not the most responsive and although I've been batting 1000 in the permissions category, getting the suckers to respond has been a drawn out and tedious process.
I really want to get the album released before August, so I can pass it out during BBR 2021. So here's what I'm gonna do, I'm going to split the amount of tracks to into separate releases 'Still Got My Mojo I' and 'Still Got My Mojo II' and possibly a 3rd if there is enough material. Release the first one here in the next week or two, release each subsequent compilation as I get 11 tracks together (standard for an album) and when all is done, release a master multiple CD collection of all the tracks. That way you all don't have to wait and have more to look forward to.
